Wo Chong specializes in producing high quality non-GMO tofu, bean sprouts and a variety of other soy products since 1935. We are the largest and oldest family (three generations) owned and operated manufacturer in Northern California.
We take great pride in our tofu that is made with our family recipe for over 90 years. Our tofu and sprouts are produced with only the highest quality ingredients and care.
Our great grandfather, Gin Louie started this business in San Francisco’s Chinatown in 1935. Then his grandsons, Walter (my uncle) and John (my dad) grew and expanded the business from 1950-1996. My brothers and I grew up at the tofu factory and today we continue to carry on our family business. I make the tofu, my brother Lester is in charge of the sprouts, and our youngest brother Tedman, does a little bit of everything!
Wo Chong Company, Inc. has developed, maintains and administers a HACCP-based Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) Food Safety Program.
