Wild Planet Foods is 100% owned and based in McKinleyville, California.  Our Founders, Bill Carvalho & Bill McCarthy, “The Two Bills” (picture attached), have over 45 years of combined experience in all aspects of seafood sourcing, operations, production & distribution of nearly all West Coast seafood products.  Together they have built a dedicated team, all of whom are committed to the ideals of sustainability. Our products are only sourced with the health of the marine eco-system as a priority. 

All of our tunas are pole & line caught – the most sustainable method. Wild Planet Foods Corporate Mission is to:  A) produce the finest wild seafood, harvested only from fisheries that are sustainable, free of wasteful by-catch and habitat destruction; B) provide consumers with quality products that provide greater essential nutrition; and C) become an example to the seafood industry in finding sustainable balance in both the use and preservation of precious marine resources. 

Best Choice Fisheries: Both Sustainable Seas tuna and Wild Planet tuna are sourced from fisheries that are considered as Best Choice by a consensus of ecological organizations including the Monterey Bay Seafood Watch program, Sea Choice and Blue Ocean.
