Located in beautiful Sonoma County, Green Valley Organics® is dedicated to producing the purest, best tasting milk for our lactose free yogurt, kefir, sour cream and cream cheese. And, while our craftsmanship and sustainable approach do make our products special, it really all starts with the farm. Our farms are peaceful places where pride for the farm life spans generations. At Diamond W Dairy, brothers Ron and Ken Wilson along with their wives Kathy and Clairette, do things the old fashioned way. The land has been in their family since the 1920s. With 13 farm hands and family members, Diamond W has 1,750 acres of prime grazing land that nurtures their award-winning Holsteins. The cows aren’t the only award winners, though. Diamond W has also been awarded Sonoma County Dairy of the Year. With a farm like this, how could you not create delicious, creamy yogurt, kefir and sour cream that people – especially lactose intolerant people – will enjoy wholeheartedly?

The milk is brought to Redwood Hill Creamery in Sebastopol, CA where it is then turned into delicious, lactose-free dairy products by a team of over 70 led by Jennifer Bice, the owner of Redwood Hill Creamery. 

Because we believe in harmony and balance for our surroundings, too, Green Valley Organics® is committed to a sustainable environment and implementing green practices for the benefit of the cows, the land, and all the people that live on it. Green Valley Organic’s farms and creamery are Certified Organic. This means we always use organic farming practices. The cows on our farms are free range; they enjoy a peaceful life grazing on green grass under the blue Sonoma sky most of the year. Our grain and hay are organic and organic certification does not allow the use of genetically modified feeds for our cows. No growth hormones are ever used on our cows, and BST is never used to increase milk production. We believe in the natural approach, whether we’re raising milk cows or culturing yogurt. So to control insects and weeds, we use natural predators, insects and trapping, not chemical pesticides or herbicides. It’s all part of creating a healthier dairy and promoting a healthier planet.

We’re committed to the Certified Humane Raised and Handled® program. It’s the only animal welfare label requiring the humane treatment of farm animals from birth to death. Run by a national, non-profit organization called Humane Farm Animal Care, or HFAC, the program improves the lives of farm animals by setting rigorous standards, conducting annual inspections and certifying the animals’ humane treatment and care. In other words, we are taking the right steps to be sure that Green Valley cows have ample space, shelter and gentle handling. They receive plenty of fresh water and a healthy diet free of antibiotics or hormones. And they will live and behave naturally, free of cages, crates or tie-stalls. Since the quality of dairy products depends on the quality of care the cows receive, the Certified Humane® label lets you know that Green Valley Organics® is the finest yogurt, kefir, sour cream and cream cheese you can buy.
