Good Eggs has partnered with San Francisco's Superprime Steakhouse to create this decadent burger grilling kit. Japanese-inspired, these burgers feature A5 Meats Prime Angus & Wagyu blend beef patties and a classic burger sauce that gets a kick from wasabi.
We’ve paired the burgers with oven-crispy smashed potatoes — adding bright yuzu buttermilk dressing elevated with mellow white miso and fresh herbs. A sprinkle of Japanese furikake makes this the perfect East-meets-West side dish for summer grilling!
What You Get
Four Angus & Wagyu burger patties
Hamburger buns
Butter lettuce
Tomatoes
Red onion
Superprime wasabi special sauce
Fingerling potatoes
Superprime yuzu buttermilk sauce
Oaktown Spice Furikake
What You'll Need
Salt & freshly ground black pepper
â…“ cup of olive oil, or cooking oil of your choice
Step 1
TO MAKE THE CRISPY POTATOES: Place potatoes in a large pot and cover with water and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to medium high. Cook potatoes until fork-tender, about 10-15 minutes. Do not let potatoes become too soft or they will not crisp in the oven. Once potatoes are tender, drain well and let cool slightly.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 425℉. Gently smash each potato with the palm of your hand, the bottom of a measuring cup or a mug. Place on a baking sheet, and gently mix with the olive oil, keeping each smashed potato intact. Sprinkle with additional salt and pepper to taste. Spread the potatoes on the baking sheet and roast until crispy. Approximately 15-20 mins.
Step 3
PREP THE BURGER TOPPINGS: Wash the lettuce, slice the tomatoes and the red onion and place on a platter. Toast the buns if desired in the oven or the grill for 2 minutes.
Step 4
TO COOK THE BURGERS IN CAST IRON: Heat a large cast iron pan to medium high, so the burger will sizzle when placed in the pan, but not to the point of smoking. No additional fat or oil is necessary to cook burgers. Allow the burger to cook until a crust is formed on the outside and then flip — about 4 minutes on each side for medium. 5-6 minutes on each side for medium well.
Step 5
TO COOK THE BURGER ON THE GRILL: Preheated the grill to 450℉. Keep the burgers refrigerated until ready to cook. Season with salt and pepper just before cooking. Burgers should sizzle when placed on the grill. Allow to cook until a crust is formed on the outside and then turn — about 4 minutes on each side for medium. 5-6 minutes on each side for medium well (for charcoal/wood grilling: be sure to burn charcoal or wood down to coals/embers to avoid bitterness).
Step 6
When ready to serve, place potatoes on a serving platter, drizzle with yuzu buttermilk dressing and sprinkle with furikake. Assemble the burgers with toppings and wasabi special sauce. Serve immediately.
