Ultraviolet Wines
Ultraviolet Wines is the vision of Samantha Sheehan, a Napa-based winemaker known for making beautifully balanced, small-production wines that celebrate California terroir. Named as one of Food & Wine Magazine’s 15 Women to Watch in Wine, Samantha created Ultraviolet to make high-quality, organically farmed wines that are approachable in both style and price.
Samantha grew up in California and wanted Ultraviolet to reflect the sunshine-filled landscape where ripe, aromatic grapes thrive. She sources her Cabernet Sauvignon and sparkling rosé from organically farmed vineyards in Mendocino County’s Ukiah Valley—a region known for its dramatic day-night temperature swings, well-drained soils, and elevated sites that preserve freshness and acidity. All vineyards are dry-farmed and sustainably managed.
With no additives beyond minimal sulfites and a light touch in the cellar, Samantha lets the fruit speak for itself. Her Cabernet is velvety yet vibrant; her sparkling rosé is crisp, clean, and refreshingly zesty. Both wines are made for everyday enjoyment—no special occasion required.
In addition to Ultraviolet, Samantha also runs POE Wines and Mommenpop, her line of citrus aperitifs. Across all her projects, she brings a consistent ethos: transparency, minimal intervention, and a deep love for California-grown fruit.
