The Shinko has a dark, rich, butterscotch-y flavor. If you let it ripen up a bit further, the sugars convert to alcohol, which gives it an even more pungent sweetness. Slice them and enjoy them raw, layer them into sandwiches (ham and cheese is a great pairing!), chop into salads, or roast with meats like pork or poultry.
