This traditional Italian holiday treat is often considered one of the most challenging sweet loaves to bake. Soft and fragrant, densely packed with chopped dried figs and rich dark chocolate chips, this somehow featherlight bread is naturally leavened with a sourdough starter. It rises three times before it's baked, resulting in an airy, fragrant and truly special loaf. For best results, we recommend removing the festive holiday wrapping and heating your panettone for about 5 minutes in a 350°F oven.
