Buddleia, also known as butterfly bush, is a shrub which produces spikes of highly-fragrant blooms used to attract moths, bees, and -- as its names implies -- butterflies, of which monarch butterflies are frequent visitors when in town. Coincidentally, they also make great cut flowers -- vivid in deep purple coloration with a fragrance which lies somewhere between honey and lavender, accented by their lush and attractive foliage.
Care for them by trimming their stems upon delivery and placing in a clean vase of water. Change their water daily and periodically trim their stems under running water to prolong their life.
