Akka's Meyer lemon relish was the first product that my older sister (akka means elder sister in Tamil, an Indian language) made using the backyard citrus tree lemons during her visit from India. This traditional South Indian pickle became very popular instantly due to the delectable taste of Meyer lemons with thin rind and fresh tasting of the ingredients without any preservatives. This tangy relish was that can be enjoyed with plain rice and yogurt, sea food, as an appetizer on a thin slice of cucumber. Whole Meyer lemons including the rind is used to make this relish.
Traditionally it is used as a condiment during a meal. A dab of this relish awakens the palette and makes every bite of the meal a fresh and enjoyable one.
