Numi Organic Tea
Beginning in 1999 in a humble 700 square foot apartment in Oakland, CA, Numi was founded by siblings Ahmed Rahim and Reem Hassani. Wanting to share the healing power of tea with the rest of the world, they named their company Numi after the dried desert lime drink from their childhood in Iraq, numi translating to “citric” in Arabic. Numi is a B corp, award-winning social enterprise that purchases organic and fair-trade teas. They give back to their hometown and community through the Numi Foundation - offering COVID food relief and experimental gardening, arts, and social studies classes to low-income families. Additionally, Numi has contributed over $1 million in Fair Trade Premiums for tea farmers, sponsoring schools, hospitals, community centers, and other essential projects in their tea growing communities. By being super conscientious of plant-based packaging and regenerative organic agriculture, Numi hopes to leave a positive impact for the planet. Their products are of high quality, healthy, and a catalyst for changing the world.
