Mrs. Renfro's
Renfro Foods is a third‑generation, family‑owned specialty food company based in Fort Worth, Texas, with roots that stretch back to 1940. It was founded by George and Arthurine Renfro, who began selling spices and vinegar out of their home following the Great Depression. Over time, the business evolved from spices into syrups, chow chow, and eventually the salsas and sauces that would define the brand’s legacy.
The iconic Mrs. Renfro’s brand was officially born in 1963 to honor Arthurine—known affectionately as Mrs. Renfro—and the family’s homegrown heritage. Through the mid‑20th century and into the ’70s, the business expanded, adding hot sauces and picante sauces, and later introducing the salsa varieties that would become beloved across the U.S. As the second and third generations took the helm, innovative and gourmet flavors like Habanero, Black Bean, and Peach salsa helped Mrs. Renfro’s stand out in a crowded market.
Today, Renfro Foods remains headquartered in the same Texas town known as “where the West begins,” still family‑operated from the Stella Street facility where the business moved in the early 1950s. The company’s commitment to family, flavor, and authentic, high‑quality products has driven its growth into all 50 states and over 30 countries. Through decades of evolution and generations of leadership, Renfro Foods continues to bring bold, true‑to‑taste salsa, sauces, and relishes to tables everywhere.
