A combination of the words "masa" (dough made from nixtamalized corn) and "tienda" (store), Masienda is the premium masa purveyor of our generation, for our generation. The company was founded in 2014 by Jorge Gaviria, who set out to source the very best heirloom corn from Oaxaca for the country’s top chefs. Since then, Masienda has become the go-to brand for industry professionals and home cooks in search of the real-deal ingredients and gear that bring the Mexican kitchen to life.
Masienda Tortillas are made the traditional way with only two ingredients: corn and alkaline water. The corn is nixtamalized, ground into fresh masa, then pressed and cooked for superior flavor and aroma.
