LOCA Food is founded by Lauren Joyner, who grew up in a meat and dairy heavy environment. With family and friends interested in incorporating more plants and vegetables into their diet, but not wanting to give up classic comfort foods, Lauren devised a way to deliver their wish. Without using any artificial flavors or preservatives, LOCA created their first plant-based potato queso using only vegetables sourced from sustainable farms in the USA. Additionally, hoping to give everyone a chance to enjoy LOCA’s products, they purposefully set out to use ingredients that were allergen free, specifically free of nuts. Successfully testing their product in Oracle Park baseball stadium and Bay Area corporate offices, LOCA decided to launch an e-Commerce retail line with the mission of giving everyone access to their simple and nutritious renditions of American dairy-based junk foods.
