Hello I'm Ugly
Founded in 2018 by Ben Moore, a fourth-generation farmer from the fruit-rich Central Valley of California, The Ugly Company is dedicated to addressing the critical issue of food waste in agriculture. Growing up, Ben witnessed first-hand the enormous quantities of fruit discarded simply because they did not meet cosmetic standards. This experience, combined with his travels and service in the Army, helped him realize the global scale of food wastefulness and inspired him to make a difference.
The Ugly Company focuses on upcycling cosmetically imperfect fruits that would otherwise be wasted, turning them into nutritious and tasty snacks. By purchasing these fruits from farmers at a fair price, The Ugly Company not only helps reduce waste but also provides additional revenue streams for farmers. Their products are Non-GMO and made entirely from upcycled ingredients, emphasizing sustainability and health.
With a bold mission to prevent 12 million pounds of food waste by 2025, The Ugly Company represents a proactive step towards achieving Zero Food Waste globally. Each bag of their upcycled fruit not only offers consumers a healthy, eco-friendly snack option but also contributes to a larger movement against food wastage. The Ugly Company's efforts are a testament to the impact that innovative, environmentally conscious business practices can have on our world.
