On a hot Texas summer day in 2009, Daniel Goetz was searching for an icy, edible way to cool down. He tried Austin's summertime staple, the sno-cone, but when his "What's in that syrup" question was answered with a shrug, he lost his appetite. Paletas naturales and "natural" frozen fruit bars gave him the same struggle: artificial colors, flavors, and synthetic ingredients in every one. Two months later, this University of Texas student had his first farmer's market stand, selling GoodPop All-Natural Frozen Pops. They're made with all-natural, organic and (as much as possible) locally sourced ingredients, organic and fair trade cane sugar ("organic evaporated cane juice"), and no artificial anything, ever. Now that's cool!
