French Squirrel is a local business, with their production occurring right in Los Angeles. Founder Sydney has always been passionate about food and cooking. She began her own food blog while attempting to rediscover her love for food after falling trap to the often-obsessive health food world. The meals, recipes, and restaurants she shared were inspired by her late French grandmother and her time living in Bordeaux. This blog eventually turned into a business, using the same name French Squirrel, making Berets, refrigerated protein bites and Bateaux, nut butter-stuffed Medjool dates. The chocolate used in their products are 100% organic and fair-trade with no added sugar, milk, soy lecithin or other gums, stabilizers or preservatives. Sydney, a Certified Hormone Specialist specializing in blood sugar management and hormone health through a nutrition perspective, designed these products with quality ingredients and blood-sugar balance in mind.
