Clovis
Clovis is the work of Remi Pouizin, a passionate biodynamic farmer and winemaker based in Visan, in the Southern Rhône. Certified organic and biodynamic since 2000, Remi took over his family's 15-hectare estate in 1995, continuing a legacy that began with organic cultivation as early as 1964—well ahead of its time in the region.
More than a vineyard, Remi’s estate is a true working farm. Chickpeas, lavenders, olive trees, sunflowers, wheat, pastures, and livestock form a biodiverse ecosystem that enriches the health of the vines and the land. His vineyards span a wide variety of soils—red clay, gravel, sand, alluvial soils, and the iconic galets roulés—spread across different microclimates and planted with multiple grape varieties. This natural patchwork gives Remi a chef-like freedom in the cellar, allowing him to craft precise, vintage-specific blends each year.
In the winery, Remi practices minimal intervention. He relies on spontaneous fermentation, avoids additives, and uses only gentle extraction and a minimal touch of sulfites. The result is a lineup of Rhône wines with a light, elegant touch—pure, expressive, and marked by soft tannins and exceptional drinkability.
With a philosophy rooted in respect for nature and a winemaking style that honors the land’s complexity, Clovis offers wines of integrity, nuance, and effortless charm.
