Organic Casselman Plum

The Casselman plum is an improved, late season Santa Rosa plum hybrid with a bright red skin and full flavor.  The Casselman plum’s ancestors were brought to California from Japan by fruit breeder Luther Burbank around the turn of the twentieth century, and the result of his tinkering is a plum with a balanced, sweet flavor that pleases most fruit-eaters. Casselmans make a great sauce for cakes and desserts and they are also great eating out of hand.
