Big PIcture Foods
Big Picture Foods is leading a quiet revolution in the center aisles of your grocery store, transforming everyday staples into regeneratively grown, naturally fermented foods that honor tradition and protect the planet.
Founded by food industry veterans Daniela and Chris Jensen along with fermentation expert Sotiris Kitrilakis (known for launching Peloponese and Mt. Vikos), Big Picture Foods was born from decades of experience and a shared frustration with the industrial food system. They knew there was a better way—one that prioritized flavor, nutrition, and the health of our soils.
Working with a trusted network of small regenerative farms in Greece and Turkey, they built a supply chain rooted in biodiversity, sustainability, and equity. Instead of chemical additives and rushed production, their olives and peppers are naturally fermented using time-honored methods—often cured for up to nine months to develop deep, vibrant flavor and preserve nutrients the natural way.
At the heart of their mission is a belief that the key to fixing our food system lies in the details: supporting traditional farming, respecting natural processes, and empowering producers at the source. Farmers ferment on-site just hours after harvest, producing exceptionally fresh foods and increasing their income in the process.
Big Picture Foods proves that by looking to the past, we can create a better future—for our food, our farmers, and our planet.
