Askinosie Chocolate

Askinosie Chocolate handcrafts single-origin dark, milk, and white chocolate bars from premium cocoa beans they source directly from smallholder cocoa farmers in Tanzania, Ecuador, the Amazon, and the Philippines. Known for pioneering direct trade practices in the chocolate industry, this family-owned business makes their chocolates from scratch in Springfield, Missouri. They even press their own single-origin cocoa butter on-site, almost unheard of in the industry due to the intensive labor required. Their chocolate is certified Kosher, and most bars are gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free.

Run by a father-daughter team, Askinosie prioritizes transparency, sustainability and social responsibility throughout their supply chain and at every step of the process. They work directly with smallholder cocoa farmers on three continents and were the first chocolate maker to work directly with a woman-led farmer group. They also partner with their farmers on community development projects in their area, including sustainable lunch programs for malnourished students, Empowered Girls and Enlightened Boys clubs, a preschool in Tanzania, and more. Askinosie Chocolate exists to craft outstanding chocolate while serving their farmer-partners, customers and each other, striving in all they do to leave the world a better place than they found it.
