The first idea for Truffle Shuffle was an app that chefs could order truffles directly from the hunters. It started in 2018 by sending a friend to Italy and having them ship truffles back and the team would go directly to the Michelin star restaurant and tell them the stories about the hunters.
In 2019, Truffle Shuffle's CEO and co-founder, Jason, was on his honeymoon with Sarah, and met a family that had "made the most amazing Balinese Salt". They mixed the Balinese Salt with their truffles, and when they tasted them, they knew we were on to something. They had created a product where they landed a deal with Whole Foods Market with the plans of selling this new product in every Whole Foods Market store. This plan was shut down because of the pandemic.
In March of 2020, Truffle Shuffle pivoted and launched a black truffles risotto class and their business completely took off from there! Truffle Shuffle has now been able to cook with almost 25,000 households, building a culinary Livestream platform and marketplace where chefs from around the world will be able to build their brands and community.
