Tillamook Cheese

Tillamook Cheese

Tillamook, OR
Just over a hundred years ago, several small creameries teamed up to form the Tillamook County Creamery Association (TCCA) to ensure the quality and reputation of cheese made in the Tillamook Valley. Today, we’re made up of nearly 110 dairy farm families who own TCCA and are wholeheartedly dedicated to taking care of everything that carries the Tillamook name.

We're an independent farmer-owned cooperative, which means our values guide us instead of profit margins. We work together, and do everything with quality in mind. Our decisions are made for the good of the product, our consumers, and our community.  Dairy done right starts with milk not treated with artificial growth hormones. Our farmer-owners are committed to keeping it that way and require the same for all dairy farmers that supply milk for Tillamook products. We make our cheese essentially the same way we did 100 years ago. We only use a few simple ingredients; milk, salt, rennet, and annatto. We take the time to let our cheddar develop naturally for a clean, rich, and delicious taste. After all, there's no substitute for patience. On any given day, we are naturally aging about 10% of the nation's monthly cheddar inventory- that's about 50 million pounds of high quality cheddar. That's the way we've done things for over 100 years and that will never change.
