We are Nick and Louise, and together we started Teapigs in November 2006 with one mission—to get the UK drinking real tea again. Nick describes himself as a tea evangelist (although much nicer than those shouty ones on American TV). Louise, an experience tea taster who has travelled the world tasting teas, is a self-confessed tea addict (not seeking rehab). Building on our experience working for a really big tea company, we came to realize there’s a whole world of quality teas out there that simply aren’t getting the attention they deserve. And so Teapigs was born.
A decade later we are grateful to offer our teas across the pond and around the globe. But for a group of tea lovers who don’t take themselves too seriously, we remain focused in our dedication to flavor. It helps that the tastiest teas are those that have been handled properly and processed with love, and Louise continues to scout the globe for the finest quality teas from selected states. By quality tea, we mean real whole leaf teas, whole leaf herbs and whole flowers. Not that dusty stuff you’ll find in regular paper teabags.
No airs. No graces. Just fine tea—we hope you join us in discovering the wonderfully diverse world of tea!
