Stormalong Cider

Stormalong Cider

Sherborn, MA

Stormalong Cider was founded in 2014 by Shannon Edgar with the desire to showcase the virtues of cider made with the right apples. They seek out rare apples and heirloom varieties, including some that were among the first apples cultivated in the United States, ferment them using both traditional and modern techniques. Their headquarters are located in Sherborn, MA (home of the largest refined cider mill in the world in the 1800s) with an additional state-of-the-art production facility in Leominster, MA (home of Johnny Appleseed). They work with a handful of distributors and wholesalers primarily in New England. They promote sustainability by using whole apples and ingredients sourced close to our facility, where they also grow 10 acres of trees. All of the cider is produced free of concentrate and added sugars. They work with orchards that employ the "Eco Apples" methodology and are grown by combining old fashioned agricultural methods with leading edge technologies. This includes the minimal use of sprays and other environmentally disruptive practices by encouraging and relying on natural occurring controls such as ladybugs and other predators.
