Sam and Sun Hee Shin along with 5 year-round employees own and operate the Solano Mushroom farm located in Vacaville, CA. Sam studied mycology at UC Davis in the 80's and began cultivating Oyster and Shitake mushrooms commercially, which placed them as one of the first growers of these varieties in the U.S. Today the Shin's frequent the Berkeley farmers' markets and sell to numerous renowned restaurants around the Bay Area.
