Shroomi was born when founder Taylor Goggin took a trip to Japan in 2017. This trip opened his eyes to the world of mushrooms especially after learning about how mushrooms have been consumed for thousands of years in Japanese cuisine and medicine. This experience was the inspiration to create a fun mushroom centric brand that would deliver on taste, function and innovation. Then, in 2018, Taylor's father came close to taking his own life and this inspired him to make mental health awareness the central mission of Shroomi. Psilocybin, a psychedelic compound found in "magic mushrooms", is being researched at Johns Hopkins University and other institutions to study the positive affects of psilocybin on depression, PTSD and anxiety. With promising results, mushrooms look to be the future of wellness for the human mind and body. Shroomi is proud to source their mushrooms from deep within the mountain highlands of China. Thousands of small farmers dedicate themselves to the cultivation of mushrooms using modern methods. Some of these mushrooms include Lion's Mane, Reishi, Chaga, Turkey Tail, and Cordyceps. They are certified organically grown as nature intended and maintain the integrity and tradition of mushroom cultivation that started in the 12th century. Their mushrooms contain key active compounds (1-3),(1-6) beta-D-glucans, triterpenoids and ergosterol. Grown naturally in outdoor environments, Shroomi only extracts from mature fruiting bodies that deliver the highest levels of the key medicinal beta-D-glucan components. Shroomi's cold-pressed wellness shots are crafted with with organic produce grown, hand harvested, and bottled on a family farm in California.
