Organic coconut palm sugar is a rich, unrefined brown sugar with a deep caramel flavor. Suitable for paleo diets, it is produced by tapping the sweet nectar from the coconut palm tree flower and drying the nutrient rich juice in a large open kettle drum. The resulting hand-harvested sugar adds a warm color and toothsome sweetness to baked goods, beverages, or atop oatmeal.
Produced by cooperative farmers on the island of Java in Indonesia. No chemicals, bone char, or animal by-products were used in the production of this sugar.
