Honey-Broiled Grapefruit

We’ve never really understood those people that “aren’t into sweets,” but as we move into Spring can certainly imagine the virtue of foregoing sugar for like, a second. This super easy dessert satisfies that post-dinner urge without feeling like an indulgence.

1 Grapefruit

2 tablespoons of Honey

Step 1

Turn on your broiler and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut the grapefruit in half and slice a thin piece of the butt end of the fruit so it stands steadily on the baking sheet. Place each half flesh side up on the baking sheet and, using the tip of a very sharp knife, cut along the membranes of the interior so it’ll be easier to scoop out and the melted honey can penetrate the whole fruit (bonus!).

Step 2

Drizzle each half with the honey and place in the broiler for about 5 minutes, until the fruit has plumped up and the pith starts to turn golden brown.

Step 3

Eat just as it is or top with a sprinkle of toasted coconut flakes!
