A very small, chili-type bean that is loaded with California history and the traditional Santa Maria BBQ bean. There is thought that this bean was a staple during the mission era moving it's way up the California coast and grown in the mission gardens. Whatever its origins, it's delicious and meaty and the perfect match for any barbecue, chili or even salad. Try it alongside carnitas or our pork shoulder chops.
