About The Producer

Kassenhoff Growers
Oakland
We are a local nursery that has been providing organically grown vegetable, herb and ornamental plant starts for Bay Area gardeners since 1994. Our plants are hardy and don't experience transplant shock because we grow outside, not in greenhouses. Kassenhoff Growers is owned and operated by Peggy Kass and Helen Krayenhoff and we live right here in Oakland. Our growing space is located in the plaza of the historic Oakland Central Train Station in West Oakland and we sell at Oakland farmers' markets as well as to landscapers. Helen is a watercolor artist inspired by the amazing bounty we are privileged to choose from here. She has created a planting calendar for frost-free areas of the Bay Area as well as some charming fruit and vegetable notecards for sale. Click on our website to read more about us.
