Butternut Squash has a nutty flavor and is sweet like a pumpkin. When ripe, the flesh turns increasingly deep orange and becomes sweeter and richer. It has a long shelf life and is a great countertop kitchen staple. Butternut squash pairs well with sage. Caramelize a few sage leaves in butter and drizzle upon roasted, grilled or even baked and mashed squash for an incredible treat.
