While the Medjool may be the most common date variety grown commercially in California, the flavor of Flying Disc Ranch's Medjool Dates is anything but common. These dates are large and pillowy. When freshly harvested and not fully dried, these dates have a huge amount of moisture left in them. If their skin breaks slightly and their sugars seep out a bit, they might form some crystallized sugars as they dry, which can sometimes be confused with mold, but are perfectly safe (and delicious!) to eat!
