Equal parts savory and exotic, noor (NOO-WER)
is a chewy and flavorful leavened flatbread with roots in Afghani cuisine. Sprinkled generously with sesame and caraway seeds, the warm and toasted flavors make for an exceptional dipping bread. Also try with cream cheese and smoked lox for a great brunch bite en lieu of bagels.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and sprinkle water on both sides of the noor, enough to moisten but not soak it.
- Wrap each piece individually in aluminum foil and place in the oven for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Enjoy plain, spread with butter or sauces, dunked in dips, or alongside the main course!
