This hearty plate is inspired by the simple family meals of Turkey, where you’re encouraged to enjoy everything scooped up into a warm pita. So grab one and dig in!

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 450°F. Remove the beets, yogurt sauce, parsley and hummus from fridge while you prepare everything else.
Step 2
Wrap the stack of pita in foil, and place in the oven for 5-7 minutes or until warm and ready to eat.
Step 3
Meanwhile, heat a cast-iron or other pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add a splash of olive oil and cook the beef kebabs for 3-5 minutes, then flip and cook the other side for another 3-5 minutes until a nice crust develops, just like a steak. Cook to desired doneness and allow beef to rest 3 minutes before cutting into slices or bite size pieces.
Step 4
When ready to serve, spread a spoonful of hummus over the bottom of each plate. Top with beets, beef kebab, a spoonful of yogurt sauce, and a pick a few whole leaves of parsley to sprinkle on top. Dig in with warm pita, or make a pita pocket! Serve with a side salad.
