Margherita Pizza

When making pizza at home, we trust Pizza Politana’s pre-made dough for a crust that rivals a classic slice joint. A bit of tomato sauce, creamy mozzarella, and fresh basil round out this classic pie.

Ingredients:
12 oz pizza dough (enough for one 12-14” pizza), thawed at room temperature for about an hour
6 oz tomato sauce
8 oz mozzarella
Basil, roughly chopped

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 500ºF, or its maximum temperature. Stretch and roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface until it’s about a 12-14” round, and lay it on an upside-down baking sheet or pizza stone.

Step 2: Spread tomato sauce over pizza dough, leaving about an inch around the edge for the crust, then tear mozzarella over the top.

Step 3: Bake pizza for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Top with freshly chopped basil and chile flakes for the classic “slice�� flavor!
