Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a sheet tray with parchment. Set the dough on the counter, and let it come to room temperature, 30 minutes.
On a lightly floured work surface, roll the dough between your hands into balls about 1 inch in diameter. Place the balls on the prepared pan, and make an indent in each cookie with a thumb. Bake until golden, about 15 minutes.
While the cookies are still warm, add small spoonfuls of jam to the indents. Let cool completely to help set the jam. Serve right away or transfer to an airtight container and store for up to 5 days.
