Product Details

Time: 30 min active, 2 hours total. Makes 6 to 8 servings, depending on the size of the roast.

A festive holiday feast has never been so easy. This gorgeously marbled prime rib roast comes with all the trimmings. Just roast the beast, reheat the sides, and gather everyone around the table. Happy holidays, from the Good Eggs Kitchen to yours.


Makes 6 to 8 servings, depending on the size of the roast


Prime Rib Roast (see note below) 

Remove the prime rib from the packaging and pat dry with paper towels. Pick the rosemary leaves and toss the stems. Chop 4 or 5 cloves of garlic and the rosemary leaves and rub it all over. Season generously with salt and pepper. Let it come to room temperature, 2 hours. 

Preheat the oven to 450°F. Fit a roasting pan with a rack. Arrange the prime rib on the rack, bone-side down. Transfer the pan to the oven, turn down the oven to 350°F, and roast until the temperature reaches 125°F for medium-rare, about 16 to 18 minutes per pound. Transfer the roast to a board and let rest for 30 minutes. Separate the bones and carve the meat. Arrange the meat and ribs on a platter, pour any juices over, season with salt, and serve warm. 


Scalloped Potatoes

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Remove the lid from the container. Bake until the potatoes are golden and bubbling, 10 to 15 minutes. 


Roasted Winter Vegetables

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Remove the lid from the container. Season the vegetables with salt and pepper to taste. Bake until warmed through, 5 to 10 minutes. Meanwhile, roughly chop a handful of parsley leaves. Just before serving, sprinkle the parsley over the veggies.


Parker House Rolls 

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Place the rolls on a sheet tray and slide into the oven to warm, 5 minutes. Tuck into a clean towel to keep warm until serving.


Braised Apples & Red Cabbage 

In a pot over medium-low heat, reheat the apples and cabbage, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes. 


Horseradish Crème Fraȋche & Salsa Verde 

Let the horseradish cream and salsa verde come to room temperature before serving with the beef and roasted veggies. 


Fresh Ginger Cake (see note below)

Thickly slice the ginger cake and serve.

Notes: The beef may arrive frozen for freshness. Store it in the refrigerator for 2 days to defrost before cooking. Depending on our foodmakers' production availability and delivery schedules, the kit will come with either Fresh Ginger Cake, Apple & Pear Cardamom Loaf, or Pumpkin Tea Cake.
