Kids and adults can get in on the fun with creamy frozen banana slices covered in a crunchy chocolate shell. Top ‘em with spiced cookie crumbs, crunchy almonds, or sweet coconut.
What You Get
Speculoos cookies
Chocolate chips
Bananas
Shredded coconut
Toasted chopped almonds
What You'll Need
Vegetable or coconut oil
Flaky salt (optional)
Step 1
Line a sheet pan with parchment or foil. Coarsely crush the cookies directly in the package with a rolling pin or heavy-bottomed pan, then pour into a small bowl.
Step 2
In a medium bowl, microwave the chocolate chips with 2 tablespoons vegetable or coconut oil in 30-second bursts, stirring between each burst, until the chocolate is melted and smooth, about 2 minutes. (Alternatively, melt together in a small saucepan over low heat.)
Step 3
Peel and cut the bananas crosswise into ½-inch-thick rounds. Working one at a time, drop a banana slice into the chocolate and flip with a fork to completely coat. Slip the fork underneath the slice to lift it out of the chocolate. Tap the bottom of the fork against the edge of the bowl a few times, then scrape the bottom of the fork against the edge of the bowl to help the excess chocolate drip off. Slide the dipped banana slice onto the prepared sheet pan. Repeat until all the banana slices are coated in chocolate.
Step 4
Sprinkle the dipped slices with the crushed cookies, coconut flakes, chopped almonds, or a combination. Dust with flaky salt, if you like. Freeze until solid, at least 2 hours. Transfer to a freezer-safe container and keep frozen for up to 1 month.
Contains: milk, eggs, tree nuts, wheat.
