It's time to get a little creative with your summer salads. With two kinds of fresh tomatoes, earthy, aromatic basil, and creamy mozzarella, this DIY Tomato Caprese is one you'll find yourself making again and again and again.

Freshly ground black pepper
Cut heirloom tomatoes into thick slices and halve cherry tomatoes. Tear or slice the balls of mozzarella.
Toss cherry tomatoes with 1 tbsp olive oil and a sprinkle of salt in a small bowl.
On a large plate or platter, arrange the slices of heirloom tomato and mozzarella and sprinkle with salt.
Spoon the cherry tomatoes over the salad and drizzle with a glug of olive oil. Finish with torn basil leaves and a few turns of freshly ground black pepper.
