Grass-fed beef patties (see note below)
Brioche burger buns
Hot dog buns
What You’ll Need
Salt and freshly ground pepper
Makes 8 servings
Active Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Preheat a gas or charcoal grill to medium-high heat. Slice the red onion into rings. Slice the tomatoes into rounds. Trim the base of the romaine and separate the leaves. Cut the watermelons into wedges, arrange on a plate, and cover and chill until ready to serve. Remove the beef patties from the packaging and season on both sides with salt and pepper.
When the grill is hot, add the beef patties and sear until browned on the first side, 3 to 4 minutes. Flip and continue to cook until done to your liking, 3 to 4 minutes longer for medium. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
Add the hot dogs to the grill, turning once or twice, to get grill marks all over, 5 minutes total. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
Add the hamburger and hot dog buns to the grill, and toast until golden, 2 minutes.
To build the burgers, place the buns on plates, spread with the aioli, and stack with the beef patties, red onion, tomato, and romaine. Place the hot dogs in the buns and drizzle with mustard. Serve warm, with the potato salad and watermelon wedges on the side.
Note: The patties may arrive frozen for freshness. Store them in the refrigerator to defrost before cooking. If you need to defrost them same day, place the sealed package in a bowl of cold water, and leave the tap running in a thin stream for about 30 minutes.
