Are you ready for a retro-fabulous throwback? Make your holiday party decadent with creamy brie in flaky, golden puff pastry.
What You Get
Puff pastry (see note below)
Brie cheese
Quince or fig jam
Baguette
What You’ll Need
All-purpose flour
Makes 6 to 8 servings
Active Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 60 minutes
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment.
Step 2
On a lightly floured surface, unfold the pastry, and roll it out gently to smooth (if it cracks, just pinch the edges back together before rolling). Cut into a square large enough to wrap around the cheese, and place the brie in the center. Spread ¼ cup of the quince jam on top of the brie. Fold the corners of the pastry around the brie and press to seal.
Step 3
Move the pastry-covered brie to the prepared pan. Transfer the pan to the oven and bake until the pastry is golden and dry to the touch, 45 to 50 minutes. Remove the baked brie from the oven, transfer to a platter, and let it rest, 5 minutes.
Step 4
While the baked brie is resting, slide the baguette into the oven to warm, 5 minutes. Slice the baguette.
Step 5
Break into the pastry with a knife and serve warm, with the baguette slices for dipping.
Note: The puff pastry will arrive frozen. Place it in the fridge to defrost for 2 to 3 hours before handling.
