Omsom partnered with owner Amelie Kang of Málà Project in NYC for this Chinese Mala Salad Starter. Made with Sichuan peppercorn and chili flakes, this starter is numbingly spicy, but refreshing all at the same time. Make with chicken, seafood, or tofu for a spicy meal. It can also be used for the popular Smashed Cucumber dish found in Asian restaurants - smash sliced cucumber until they are flat and mix with the starter for a cool and crispy cucumber salad.
Ingredients: gluten-free soy sauce (water, soybeans, salt, sugar, corn starch), black vinegar, garlic, chili oil, sichuan dried chili flakes, cane sugar, scallions, sesame oil, sichuan peppercorns, sesame seeds.
