With very heavy hearts we’re announcing that effective Wednesday, August 5, we are closing our operations in New Orleans.
We started Good Eggs with a mission to grow and sustain local food systems worldwide – and we remain driven by that goal today. Inspired by the support of our loyal customers and the work of our extraordinary farmers and foodmakers, we’ve built something really special. We would not have been able to get this far without you.
But we didn’t fully anticipate the challenge of creating a new kind of food business that required a different approach to supply chains, logistics and commerce – it was, and is, more complicated than we imagined. We made a mistake in expanding as quickly as we did without perfecting the model first, and we take full responsibility for that mistake and its consequences.
We are going to use this hard-learned lesson to focus our energy and resources on our Bay Area market. We all continue to have a deeply rooted belief in our work and are extremely grateful for your support as we strive to improve our model to realize our mission.
You can read more about our plans for the future in this blog post. It’s been a pleasure serving your community, and we hope we have the opportunity to bring you great food again in the future. In the meantime, we encourage you to continue to support your local Good Eggs producers at their stores or farmers market stands.
