Le Bon Garçon is a confectionery brand founded by pastry chef Justin Chao, whose work bridges French technique with the flavors and cultural influences of his Chinese American upbringing. Growing up surrounded by vibrant home cooking in the Los Angeles suburbs, Chao developed an early appreciation for flavor and tradition that would later shape his creative path.

After training in Paris and studying traditional patisserie, including time under renowned chocolatier Jacques Genin, Chao returned to his roots with a renewed perspective. Combining classical confectionery skills with personal storytelling, he began crafting caramels that reflect both technical precision and cultural exploration. What emerged was Le Bon Garçon — a brand grounded in craftsmanship, identity, and the joy of discovery through taste.
