Kokada

Kokada is a family owned business, started by two former Duke athletes Breanna and Jared. While traveling, they were immensely curious about other culture's foods and discovered that many other cuisines utilized coconut in desserts and snacks. Sri Lankan food especially struck a chord with them as it is a cuisine steeped with coconuts in sweets, condiments, desserts and more. Taking inspiration from Sri Lankan and other international cuisines, Breanna and Jared started making their own version of coconut snacks in the kitchen. The idea was to create something sweet without any refined sugars and something easy to use. After a year of testing, they landed on Kokada. They source coconuts directly from Sri Lanka, working with partners who are committed to fair pay and building communities. Kokada is truly a first of its kind in the US. Created using simple, organic ingredients, Kokada is vegan, gluten-free, and peanut free. They are on a mission to prove that food products can be delicious, healthy, and socially impactful through sharing better-for-you, original coconut products.
