well hello there, i'm Josey Baker (and yes, that is my real last name). i started baking at home a few years ago, and i just immediately fell in love. i started baking so much that I had to give it away to friends and neighbors and co-workers, 'til one day my neighbor Michael said, "hey, I'll give you a few bucks for this." and the rest, my friends, is history.
these days I don't bake at home much any more, as I've got The Mill, a cafe bakery that I run with the fine, fine folks from Four Barrel Coffee. at The Mill we mostly make whole grain sourdough bread, and all of those whole grains are milled into flour on our stone mill, which is right in the bakery.
If ya feel like checking out what we're up to, come say hey - we're at 736 Divisadero and we're open every day from 7am-7pm. bread's outta the oven by 8am everyday.
