What does my order arrive in?

Your order comes in a sturdy cardboard box, divided into sections and kept cool for a few hours with reusable ice packs.

What should I do with my packaging once my order arrives?

We're happy to reuse your packaging — just leave the boxes and ice packs by your door when you're expecting a delivery and we'll take them back. Our boxes are also 100% recyclable, so if you'd rather dispose of them yourself, just flatten them down and put them out with the rest of your paper goods.

When do you deliver?

Our delivery hours are 10am to 9pm every day of the week.

Order your groceries by 1pm and we'll deliver it all the same day.

Where does Good Eggs deliver?

Good Eggs is available in most Bay Area zip codes, including San Francisco, the East Bay, much of Marin, the Peninsula and the South Bay (as far as Sunnyvale). See our delivery map.

Is delivery really free?

It is! For all orders over $60, your delivery is free. For orders that are less than $60, delivery costs $9.99.

How do I edit my order?

You can change the delivery time, address and items in your order in the Your Orders page any time before your order cutoff. Go to the Order Details page to see your order cutoff, and click the Order Details button to start making changes.

If you want to edit your order on your phone, open the app and click on the green “Upcoming Delivery” band above the produce section. From there, you'll be able to add products to your order or edit delivery details up until your order cutoff.

Unfortunately, we're not able to edit the contents of your order after your order cutoff before your delivery.

How does billing work?

Your credit card will be authorized at checkout, then charged in full for your order at the cutoff for your selected delivery time (cutoff visible on your order details). You'll also automatically receive a receipt when the payment is processed.

What happens if I don't like something in my order?

We want you to be thrilled with what you order! If you're not, let us know and we'll make it right.

What is Good Eggs?

Good Eggs is an online market that delivers good groceries to customers' homes throughout the Bay Area, seven days a week.

How do you deliver such fresh food?

We work directly with our local farmers and foodmakers, which allows us to get their food to us (and then to you) in half the time of a traditional grocery store. That means better, more delicious food for you.

What kind of food do you sell?

Our marketplace consists of the best of all worlds: local and organic produce from nearby farms, sustainable meat and seafood, exceptional products from local food producers, and all of your basic grocery staples.

What makes shopping on Good Eggs so easy?

Order your groceries by 1pm and we'll deliver it all the same day. Select your preferred delivery time in the basket. See “When do you deliver?” if your zip code has same day delivery.

How do I create an account?

Click “sign in” in the upper right hand corner.

Click “sign up.”

Create a username and password for yourself. That's it!

Placing Orders

What makes shopping on Good Eggs better than the supermarket?

Lots of things! First, the food that you buy on Good Eggs is much fresher and higher quality than the food you'd find at your traditional grocery store since it's not sitting around waiting to be purchased. With Good Eggs, you can search for exactly what you want and find it right away—plus you can browse the aisles and discover new products. And our recipes give weekly inspiration so you're never stuck trying to figure out what to make for dinner.

How do I check out?

To check out, click on Your Basket, then scroll down to the Check Out button. Review your order and set your delivery time, address, and payment method, then click the Place Order button. And you're done!

Why does product availability change from day to day?

We have lots of staples that are available seven days a week! But just like the produce in your farmers market, the availability of food in our marketplace can change depending on what's ripe and in season, and according to the production, harvest or delivery schedules of our local farmers and foodmakers.

Can I edit my order after I've placed it?

Yes! You can change the delivery time, address, and items in your order until the delivery time cutoff (cutoff visible on your order).

Go to Your Orders, and click the Order Details button. (The Edit button won't be visible once the delivery time cutoff has passed and your order is being processed.)

If you want to edit your order on your phone, open the app and click on the green “Upcoming Delivery” band above the produce section. From there, you'll be able to add products to your order or edit delivery details up until the order cutoff time has passed before your delivery.

Can I cancel my order after I've placed it?

You can cancel an order up until the delivery time cutoff (cutoff visible on your order). To cancel an order, go to Your Orders. Select your order by clicking “Order details” and then scroll to the bottom where you'll find a “Cancel Order” option. Unfortunately, if you pass your order cutoff, we aren't able to cancel last-minute. We give our farmers and foodmakers this courtesy so that they have enough time to prepare and deliver your food. This means that it always comes to you as fresh as possible!

Why is there a $30 minimum?

A $30 minimum for Good Eggs orders helps us create a sustainable business — both environmentally and operationally. For orders over $60, we're happy to offer free delivery.

Dinner Kits

Do I need to subscribe?

Nope! Order from us once or as often as you please, but you’ll save $$ every week if you subscribe. If your plans change, you can cancel, skip, or make changes at any time.

How soon can I get it?

We sell Weeknight and Vegetarian Dinner Kits on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday each week. Check out by 1pm for same-day delivery. Did we mention delivery is free?

How is it packaged with the rest of my groceries?

Because your dinner kit and groceries arrive at your place the same day they leave ours, your food arrives with minimal packaging. Cold stuff stays cold with reusable ice packs, and our prepared food containers are recyclable.

Do you offer dinner kits for different diets?

Our Weeknight Dinner Kit fits an omnivore diet and our Vegetarian Dinner Kit is for those who prefer no meat. Looking for something else? Email sfbay-help@goodeggs.com.

Do your dinner kit ingredients meet the Good Eggs food standards?

We source the freshest ingredients from the same producers you’ll see in our marketplace — 70% local and always high integrity.

How long will the food last?

Our dinner kits are made to last all week long. Since we are a direct connection between your fridge and local farmers, fishermen, ranchers, and bakers, you know it’s as fresh as you can get.

How do you make your dinner kits easy enough for a weeknight?

Behind the scenes, we’re chopping, grating, marinating, and even cooking some of the things that would take you hours, so you can throw it all together in under 30 minutes and get the glory.

Delivery

What days do you deliver?

We deliver 7 days a week! We're closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day.

When do you deliver?

Our delivery hours are 10am to 9pm every day of the week.

Is delivery really free?

It is! For all orders over $60, your delivery is free. For orders that are less than $60, delivery costs $9.

Do I have to be home to accept my order?

Nope! If your order does not include alcohol, we can leave it for you. Simply specify your delivery preferences at checkout, and we'll place your groceries in a secure spot at your home or office, like inside an unlocked front gate or with the receptionist. Cold items are packed with reusable ice packs so they'll stay cold while you're away, and we'll text you when we deliver so you know exactly when they get there.

If your order contains alcohol, someone 21 years or older must have a valid ID and be present for delivery.

How do I change my delivery window?

You can reschedule or cancel your delivery up until your order window closes. You can find the order window cutoff on your upcoming order details.

Can I cancel my order after the order window closes?

We get it—life happens. If something comes up and you need to cancel your order after the order window closes, we offer a one-time grace cancellation. Your order will be refunded in full with no fees.

Subsequent cancelled orders will be refunded and charged a restocking fee equal to 20% of the cost of your order.

What happens if I miss my delivery?

If your order requires an attended delivery and we're not able to reach you, we will cancel the order on your behalf. If this happens, you will be refunded for the order and charged a restocking fee equal to 20% of the cost of your order.

Why do you charge a restocking fee for cancelled or missed orders?

This helps cover the cost of disassembling the order to restock items that can be resold, as well as discarding fresh items that can't be resold, such as baked goods, produce, etc.

How does my order stay cold?

All cold items are packed with reusable ice packs so they'll stay cold while you're away. So go ahead and snag that pint of ice cream—we've got you covered.

Should I tip the delivery driver?

So nice of you to ask! We are committed to creating good food jobs that don't depend on tips.

The Food

How do you choose the food in your marketplace?

We have a rigorous set of criteria that all of our food producers meet, and it covers a range of factors from sustainable farming practices to transparent sourcing to treating employees well. We also taste everything to make sure it's all amazing!

What happens if I don't like something in my order?

How do you deliver such fresh food?

We're happy to put you in touch with a food producer or pass along feedback—just email or call us and we'll make it happen.

Do you carry food for people with food aversions or allergies?

We do carry lots of products that are certified vegan, gluten free, wheat free and nut free but it's important to note that our food hub facility is not allergen free.

There's a product that I'd love for you to carry—how do I request it?

We love product requests! Please email sfbay-help@goodeggs.com with your request—if it meets our criteria, we'll add it.

The Drink

How does purchasing and delivery of alcohol work?

All customers who order alcohol on Good Eggs must be 21 years of age or older and they must be present for delivery.

If you are 21 years of age or older, add all the beverages you'd like to your basket. In the delivery details at checkout, "Don't leave the order unattended" will be automatically selected.

At the time of delivery, we will verify age, so please have a valid government-issued photo ID ready to show your delivery driver, such as a passport, U.S. driver's license, state ID card, or military ID. Sorry, we cannot accept student, employee, or expired government ID cards as proof of age.

If you are not present for delivery or do not have a valid government ID to show you are 21 years or older, we cannot deliver your entire order, and it will be treated as a cancelled/missed order. Please refer to our policy for missed and cancelled orders.

Do I have to be present for delivery if my order contains alcohol?

How does my order arrive?

Can I return my glass bottles and containers too?

Yes! We collect all containers that include a deposit, and will add a credit to your Good Eggs account. Simply rinse and return the containers directly to your delivery driver or leave them by your door when you're expecting a delivery.

Gift Cards & Promo Codes

How do I send someone a gift card?

Great idea! Click on the gift card link in our site footer. You can either email your gift card or print it out and give it in person.

Can I send a gift order that contains alcohol?

Yes, you can send a gift that contains alcohol if you and the recipient are 21 years or older. The gift recipient must have a valid government ID, and be present for delivery. We cannot deliver the gift order if the gift recipient does not meet these requirements. For more information, visit our Terms & Privacy.

I have a gift card. How do I redeem it?

What a great gift! Once your basket is filled, click the “checkout” button. That will take you to a page that allows you to review your order, enter your address and choose your delivery window. In the payment section, click the link that says “Add a Promo/Gift/School Code” From there, you'll be able to enter your unique code and redeem your gift!

Even if you're redeeming a gift card, however, you still need to enter your credit card details. We'll place an authorization charge for $1 that will be refunded/dropped when the order window closes.

How do I redeem a promo code?

Enter your code during checkout in the payment section, where it says “Add a Promo/Gift/School Code

Account Settings & Billing

How do I reset my password?

Click on Forgot password? on the sign-up page, and we'll send you an email to help you reset it.

How do I change the credit card that's on my account?

Log into Good Eggs, click your name in the upper right hand corner, and click on the Your Orders page. Edit away! Please note that once an order is placed, the credit card charged for that order cannot be changed.

How do you keep my credit card information secure?

Your credit card information is stored safely with our gold-standard payment processing company, Stripe. Learn more about them here!

When will I be charged for my order?

Your credit card will be authorized for $1 at checkout, then charged in full for your order at the cutoff for your selected delivery time (cutoff visible on your order details). You'll also automatically receive a receipt when the payment is processed.

How do I get a receipt for my order?

We'll bill your card and send you a full receipt when the order window closes once the cutoff time for your order has passed (cutoff visible on your order details).

Subscriptions

How do I set up a subscription order?

Subscribe to products at checkout and we'll create a weekly subscription for the same day, time and address as your order. Add additional products at any time by subscribing at checkout.

Can I add to my subscription order?

Your subscription is a great way to make sure you have the basics coming. We'll create your subscription order a week ahead so you can add to it at any time.

Will you remind me about upcoming subscription orders?

We'll email you the day before your delivery so you can add to or edit your order. If you use the Good Eggs iPhone app, we'll send you a notification too.

How do I manage my subscriptions?

Once you're subscribed, you can change quantity or unsubscribe by editing your next subscription order. Change the delivery time and address to update all future subscription orders. You'll always see your next order in Your Orders.

How do I cancel my subscriptions?

Unsubscribe by editing your next subscription order in Your Orders.

Can I skip a subscription order?

Skip upcoming subscription orders up to four weeks in advance from Your Account.

What happens if my subscription order is below the $30 delivery minimum?

If your total order does't meet the minimum, we'll void the order at the order cutoff and you won't be charged. If your order is under $30, just add anything else you need before the order cutoff.

Can I get my subscription order on another day?

Your subscriptions are set to the same day as your initial order. To get those products on a different day this week, we recommend canceling your order for this week and placing it again for a new day and time.

To permanently change the day of your subscription order, cancel your next order and unsubscribe from those products, then create a new subscription order for your desired day. We'll support changing day in the future.

How do you handle price changes?

Your subscription order will use the current market price. Price changes are usually no more than 10% up or down. Produce prices may change more significantly with the seasons.

What if a product I am subscribed to is not available?

We will always do our best to give you an equal or better quality substitute and we'll refund you if we can't.
