The Melogold, similar to the Oroblanco, is a cross between a White Grapefruit and a Pomelo. The amazing UC-Riverside citrus breeding program developed this variety, which is prized for its high sugar content, low acidity, and the fact that it strays from its Pomelo parentage by having juicy and delicate flesh that's easily separated from the segment membranes. It's sweet and fragrant flavor makes ideal for eating fresh, salads or fruit preparations.
