Cream and the Crop
He and his wife Liana (a San Francisco native herself) decided to move back to her hometown SF so in 2009, after a cross country cheese tour, he realized what he wanted to achieve in San Francisco, his new home. He wanted to bring the amazing cheeses, stories and inspirations from the dairies he visited to the City. With a tiny loan and a lot of energy, Darren began building Cream and the Crop and his dream.
We have the honor of working with some of the world's best chefs and some of the most talented cheese mongers in the world. As our company expands, our partnerships, and in many cases friendships deepen and we continue to grow this blooming, evolving American artisan food culture. We find inspiration in chefs who show unwavering commitment to quality, in dairies who are creative and precise, and in skillful cheese mongers who are eager to offer only the very best.
