Momofuku's honey chili sauce, a delightful blend of spicy and sweet, creates a perfect glaze for tender shrimp. A versatile recipe – the shrimp can be roasted in the oven or cooked on the grill. This satisfying, yet light, meal comes together with steamed coconut rice, crispy cucumbers, and Momofuku’s fragrant ginger scallion sauce. This meal kit is elegant enough for a special dinner for two, but comes together quickly for a weeknight win! 

*Shrimp will arrive frozen. Place in the refrigerator the night before cooking to defrost. Alternatively, for a quick thaw, place shrimp in cold water for 15-20 minutes. Drain well and dry with paper towels before use.

What You'll Need

Olive oil or cooking oil for your choice

Salt & Ground Black Pepper

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400F. Alternatively, if using the grill, preheat to medium-high.

Step 2

Place ½ of the honey chili sauce in a medium bowl. Mix with 1 tablespoon of olive oil (or preferred cooking oil) until smooth.

Step 3

Peel shrimp. Place the shimp into the mixing bowl with the honey chili mixture, along with a pinch of salt and a few cracks of fresh ground pepper, and mix well to coat.

Step 4

Spread the shrimp out on a baking pan and roast for 8-10 minutes until the shrimp are pink and firm. Alternatively grill on medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes, and turnover for 1-2 additional minutes.

Step 5

While shrimp are cooking, reheat the coconut rice by placing it in a microwave safe container, with 1 tablespoon of water (a splash!) and cover tightly with lid or plastic wrap. Reheat in the microwave for 3 minutes.

Step 6

When shrimp is finished cooking, transfer to a plate and brush with additional sauce if desired. To serve, spoon rice onto a platter, top with shrimp, cucumbers and scallions. Serve ginger scallion sauce and remaining honey chili sauce on the side.
